Lisa McGiffert, Senior Policy Analyst

Lisa McGiffertLisa is currently the director for Consumers Union's www.StopHospitalInfections.org campaign, aimed at reducing hospital-acquired infections by raising public awareness and seeking publication of hospital infection rates. The campaign is part of Consumers Union's ongoing efforts to improve the quality of health care in hospitals.

A nationally recognized advocate on health issues, Lisa has been with Consumers Union for 13 years. Lisa holds a B.A. from Midwestern State University and has 20 years of advocacy experience.


Suzanne Henry, Campaign Organizer

Suzanne Henry is the campaign organizer for the www.stophospitalinfections.org campaign for Consumers Union, the nonprofit publisher of Consumer Reports. The multi-state project seeks to reduce hospital-acquired infections by raising public awareness and requiring public disclosure of hospital infection rates. The campaign has initiated infection reporting legislation in 43 states, 15 of which now have passed into law. As the campaign organizer, Suzanne is responsible for communicating and coordinating activists in all the states.


Daniela Nunez, Grassroots Organizer

Daniela joined CU in November 2007 as a Grassroots Organizer based in the Southwest office. Before that she worked with the Save Our Springs Alliance in Austin, where she helped coordinate grassroots outreach for Barton Springs through petition drives, volunteer on-the-ground actions, and event promotion. She was President of Notre Dame for Animals and Vice-President of College Democrats while she earned her B.A. at the University of Notre Dame. Daniela also interned with U.S. Senator Evan Bayh in Indiana and U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett in D.C.

A native of Austin, TX, Daniela is interested in many public interest issues such as health care, the environment, and animal rights. She enjoys fiction, live music and social networks.
